Collinson has installed a MugaCova to improve the sports facilities for pupils of SFX College in Liverpool, UK.  

Modernisation of the sports facilities was a priority With indoor sports facilities consisting of an old fashioned gym, limited access to the School hall and a very old swimming pool in need of extensive  repairs.

The MugaCova -  a multi use games area - can host a variety of sports whatever the weather.

It consists of a steel-framed superstructure protected by a tensile membrane on the roof only, leaving the sides uncovered for sheltering outdoor games areas such as tennis or basketball courts.

Optional integrated sports equipment include basketball goals.

At 32m by 21m, two classes can use the facility simultaneously by using the dividing wall.

During rain showers the students have been able to continue to play outside in the fresh air whilst protected from the wet weather,  and in the summer the MugaCova allows play to continue in the shade.

The local community and external clubs are also being invited to rent out the facility in the evenings with new floodlights enabling play to continue after dark.
